Gasparilla 2011 : Tampa, Florida ! Full Parade Events Coverage

GasParilla Children's Parade: On January 20, 2011, Tampa Gov announced that those planning to attend the Gasparilla event may choose to skip the hassles of parking close to the parade route by using HART’s extra streetcar service on January 29, 2011. Also, the Gasparilla Extravaganza shuttle will provide transportation along two shuttle routes from 10:00 am-8:00 pm on January 22, 2011.These invaders arrive amidst a flotilla of boats and proceed to City Hall to capture the mayor who surrenders the city to these vandals.

Then begins a parade with music, floats, bead tossing, and much more. The celebrating goes on into the night. A bit like our own version of a "day of Mardi Gras", Tampa-style!.Today’s lineup includes children’s activities and vendors lining Bayshore Boulevard at 11:00 am with festivities running full force at 1:00 pm. Between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm is the Bicycle Safety Rodeo presented by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee of Hillsborough County.

After the procession, estimated at 2 1/2-hour, from its bay to Bay Boulevard starting point for Watrous / Orleans Avenues, there is an additional incentive to brave winds colder: 19 hours of the beginning ” Piratechnic “Extravaganza, a 30-minute re-enactment of the fireworks from the sea battle between imagination and Ye Mystic Krewe city of Tampa.

3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Fireworks at 7 p.m.
Route runs along Bayshore Blvd.

Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates
Saturday, Jan. 29
2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Route follows Bayshore all the way into Downtown
Alcohol allowed along the event route only
