Nadal flummoxed Federer yet again Sunday in a riveting, highlight-filled match, beating him 7-5, 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-1 for a record-tying sixth French Open championship and 10th major title overall.
"He plays better against the better ones, and that's what he showed today," said Federer, owner of 16 Grand Slam trophies. "He's a great champion, on clay, especially."
There's no question that Nadal is as good as it gets in Paris – 45-1 for his career, and the same number of titles there as Bjorn Borg – but the Spaniard already also has shown that he is much more than the King of Clay. And Sunday's victory only will raise more questions about whether Federer truly deserves to be called the Greatest of All Time if he is not even the Greatest of Right Now.
Nadal leads their head-to-head series 17-8. That includes a 6-2 advantage in Grand Slam finals and a 5-0 edge at the French Open (in the 2005 semifinals, and the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011 finals).

DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) – The younger sister of football great Brett Favre was arrested Wednesday, along with four others, at the site of a meth lab in Diamondhead.Hancock County narcotics agents discovered the active meth lab inside a condo unit in the heart of the normally quiet, upscale community. And while the discovery may be a surprise to many, it wasn't to neighbors.A drug sale at the front of Diamondhead led investigators to the operation on Golf Club Drive.

The younger sibling of the (likely) retired quarterback was one of five people rounded up inside a condo where a cooking station was hidden, reports WLOX. The suspects were taken to a local medical center for decontamination before being thrown in jail.
Brandi Favre was among five people arrested in the Diamondhead bust and was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and generating hazardous waste, said Hancock County Sheriff's Maj. Matt Karl."She happened to be there and she was arrested along with the others," Karl said.Two of the other suspects face the same charges as Favre. The other two were charged with sale of a controlled substance. And one of them also faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Police say they spotted a drug purchase nearby and followed the suspects to the Diamondhead meth lab.
Brandi Favre was arrested at the meth lab as were four others: David Logan, Marty Grimes, Carl Wynn III, and Alicia Kirkland.
Brandi Favre and the other suspects are now in custody.

National Championship College Football 2011. The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) is a five-game showcase of college football. It is designed to ensure that the two top-rated teams in the country meet in the national championship game, and to create exciting and competitive matchups among eight other highly regarded teams in four other bowl games.
Oregon missed two first half field goals and scored on a Barner run, while auburn was able to score three td's on two passes from cam newton and one rush from Dyer to make the first half score 21 - 7 Auburn. Darren Thomas strained his back in the second quarter severely hurting Oregon's offense. Kenjon Barner opened up the second half with a long TD run to make it 21 -14. Auburn responded with a 55 yard field goal to make it 24 -14. On the very next play from scrimmage Lamichael James ran 81 yards for a touchdown making it 24 - 21 with 3 min left in 3rd quarter. Oregon got the ball back and scored again to make it 28 - 24 with 1 minute left in the third. After recovering a fumble on the next kickoff Oregon scored on a pass to make it 35 - 24 at the end of the third. A Dyer run made it 35 - 30 after failing on the two point conversion with 4 mins left in the fourth. Darron Thomas came back in the fourth quarter but his first drive stalled. Cam Newton scored on a 46 yard run, but auburn failed on the two point conversion making the game 36 - 35 with under 3 mins left in the 4th. Oregon mised another field goal with under 2 minutes to go giving auburn the ball. Newton scored on another run making the score 43 - 35 with 1 minute left. Oregon was able to score and tie it up at 43 to send it into overtime. Auburn scored first with a pass to Cody Burns. Oregon matched it making the score 50 - 50. Auburn intercepted the ball in the first overtime allowing Auburn to win on a field goal 53 - 50.

With the Capitals winning 2-1 late in the third period, Ovechkin chased down the puck off the boards on a breakaway and bolted to the net. Florida's Bryan McCabe tripped Ovechkin up, but it wasn't enough to stop the Capitals star.Alexander Ovechkin scored the eventual game-deciding goal in the Capitals 3-2 victory over the Panthers last night. It was kind of beast mode on ice as he was tripped and put the puck in the net as he went crashing to the ice. Meanwhile, across the hockey world, Sidney Crosby missed his second straight game.
The two played an even third but when Michael Frolik got called from tripping with 7:15 left, the Capitals pounced and got a goal from Green as he backhanded a shot from the slot. Ovechkin got a highlight goal with 3:55 left when he passed himself the puck off the side board and charged in on Clemmensen from center ice. Bryan McCabe tried to slow him down with his stick, but Ovechkin kept his stick on the puck and even after being tripped up, was able to put the puck in the back of the net.

Today in Miami, the Stanford football team will make its first appearance at a Bowl Championship Series game since 2000, drawing from across the country thousands of fans and a big academic question: should these students’ absences from the first two days of winter quarter be excused by the University?
After Stanford accepted an invitation to play in the Orange Bowl, Provost John Etchemendy Ph.D. ‘82 wrote an e-mail on Dec. 13 to all faculty asking them to “remain flexible” with students who miss classes for the Orange Bowl. His letter called the game “a tremendous accomplishment for the players and a source of pride and excitement for our students and alumni.” Naming Stanford’s football team as “exceptional in its success,” he requested that faculty accommodate all students who miss classes to “show the team the support they deserve.”
A quick perusal of the Stanford roster of 104 players shows fully a third of them weigh in over 250 pounds and stand 6 feet, 5 inches or taller. Coach Harbaugh likes to recruit players he can literally look up to from his 6 foot 3 inch height.
