HEAVEN'S RAIN FILMMAKER FORMER OKLAHOMA !!! Worldnews108blogspot.Com
Former Oklahoma State Sen. and filmmaker Brooks Douglass will be featured in a special two-hour NBC Dateline episode at 8 p.m. Friday. On Friday morning, Brooks will promote the Dateline episode with an appearance on the NBC’s “Today” show.
The Dateline episode will focus on the brutal 1979 attack on the Douglass family in their rural Oklahoma home, in which two criminals claimed the lives of Brooks’ father and mother, and left him and his sister for dead. Douglass went on to become the youngest state senator in Oklahoma history when he took action against the injustices many victims of crime face, authoring more than 20 pieces of victims’ rights legislation.
The film recounts the true story of the Douglass family, whose lives were irrevocably changed one tragic evening 30 years ago. Two drifters broke into their home, killing Douglass' parents and shooting he and his sister.
Douglass later became an Oklahoma State Senator and authored groundbreaking victims' rights legislation -- yet still has to come to terms with moving forward from his past.
