Hospitalized Dad Of 5 Browns Faces Felony Child Sex Abuse Charges!!!!

SALT LAKE CITY - Keith Scott Brown, 55, the father of the 5 Browns recording group, is facing three felony child sex abuse charges.

Brown was charged in 4th District Court on Thursday with one first-degree felony count of sodomy on a child and two second-degree felony counts of child sex abuse.The father of five siblings who make up internationally renowned piano group The 5 Browns has been accused of sex abuse and sodomy by his own daughters.

Keith Brown was charged on February 10 with one first-degree count of sodomy on a child, and two second-degree counts of sexual abuse of a child, Salt Lake City court records show.

The records do no identify his alleged victims.However 5 Browns spokesman Kimball Thomsan said the charges involve Brown's daughters and group members Desirae, Deondra and Melody.

Court documents state the allegations stem from separate occasions between November 1990 and October 1992, November 1990 and November 1992 and March 1997 and March 1998 in Utah County.

Mr Thomson said the Brown women severed their professional relationship with Keith Brown in October of 2008. He was once the manager of The 5 Browns but now has no connection to the group.

If convicted, Keith Brown could face a sentence of up to life in prison on the first-degree felony and up to 15 years each on the second-degree felonies.

The children had visited their parents at hospitals and were hopeful for speedy recoveries, Mr Thomson said.Their performance schedule would not be affected by the developments, he said.No updates were available on the medical conditions of Keith and Lisa Brown.

Emergency responders could not initially find the car because it had plunged several hundred feet down a ravine and trees blocked it from view, Hoyal said. They eventually found the Browns near Seven Turns.

Unified Fire spokesman Cliff Burningham said it took 25 firefighters about two hours to locate, rescue and transport the two to hospitals. They were later listed in serious condition - Keith Brown with head injuries and his wife with back injuries.



The 5 Browns are a well-known piano group from Alpine. The five siblings, Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae, attended New York's Juilliard School. Thomson said the Brown women severed their professional relationship with Keith Brown in October of 2008. He was once the manager of The 5 Browns but now has no connection, Thomson said.

Thomson added that the siblings will not alter their touring or performing schedules as a result of the accident or criminal charges."They're fully committed to making everyone of their concerts on their upcoming tours," Thomson said. "It's actually a great comfort for them to tour."The Associated Press contributed to this story.
