While my questions mostly related to mammels, think about the T-rex. Could have walked on 4 legs, then by some genetic defect, some of their arms got shorter & shorter. You'd think they would have less of a chance, but you could also argue that it helped them out.While a freak monkey being born without any arms and learning to walk upright when the rest of his species walks on 4 legs, didn't evolve into humans (for it to have any evolutionary impact, his/her offspring would have had to have been like that, which would mean we have no arms today).
So I wasn't saying the dog scenario would be directly related in any way, all I was implying was watching a dog, walking upright with zero problems, at least made me think of what happened millions and millions of years ago to cause the first mammels to walk upright?

Unlike most dogs, he enjoys walking like a man, on his back paws, and can do it for long periods of time.He has been practicing his human walk with his master and he’s gotten quite good at it. The only other dog I know can walk on two paws only is Faith the Wonder Dog, who has no choice, since she has no front paws.
