We will be providing live updates from the first round action so get your brackets ready. The score was knotted at 58-58 after ODU's Kent Bazemore sank a pair of free throws with 31.2 seconds to play. ODU decided not to press the Bulldogs on the inbounds and Butler ran the clock down inside of 10 seconds when Shawn Vanzant cut down the right side towards the basket.
But Vanzant lost control of the ball and appeared to fling the ball towards the basket. The wild shot found its way to Butler's Andrew Smith, who batted the ball back up off the backboard and it caromed to Howard who grabbed the loose ball and got rid of it with just a tenth of a second to play.
