American Idol Apologizes for Steven Tyler – Video
The show started with a black card that read: "American Idol would like to apologize for last week's outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler. Mr. Tyler has been warned and assures us it will never happen again." Naturally, the show cut to a clip of a young man coming in who said his last name was Muck, to which Tyler responded, "Do you know what rhymes with Muck?" Never change, Tyler. Never Change. The message was followed by a short recap of his behavior which included telling a contestant named Jake Muck, “You know what Muck rhymes with?” to which innocent Jake responded “Duck” and Steven corrected him with “Read my lips.” Yep that’s the big controversial segment that the talent show was deeply sadly for. In case you issed it, the apology wasn’t really an apology but an opportunity for the show to garner some more headlines for its newest judges. Unfortunately the show never apologized for Simon Cowell’s behavior.
