DREAM Act – Dream Act 2010 Status
The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act (The "DREAM Act") is a piece of proposed federal legislation in the United States that was first introduced in the United States Senate on August 1, 2001 and most recently re-introduced there and the United States House of Representatives on March 26, 2009.current DREAM Act 2010 status is it did not get approval in the Senate today. It required 60 votes to get the approval but senators voted 56 to 43 for the bill. If accepted, the legislation would permit conditional citizenship for six years to those immigrants who aged below 35 years and illegally taken into the U.S. before 16years of age in addition to they have lived at least 5 years in this country.The DREAM Act (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) is one of the top searched items in Google trends today. It has got with both disagreement and support surrounding the controversial measure.
The bill was being initiated by Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid, who planned to include this bill as an amendment to the Defense Reauthorization bill. Supporters of the bill believe that it will offer students a chance to give back to America but there are a lot people who oppose the measure.
The act would have made close to 2.1 million children and young adults under 35 years old eligible for permanent residency.
There are reasons for wanting to Reed on DREAM Act, which offers a path to citizenship of some illegal immigrants who were brought to this country as children. It enjoys bipartisan support in the past. The Ministry of Defence called DREAM Act, necessary to maintain the effectiveness of volunteers. And the DREAM Act also has several high-profile war advocates such as retired general Colin Powell.
